The Dawning of Blade Runner II
The talk of sequels has been talked about a lot. Almost as much as the Deck-a-Rep debate. But...my vision of a sequel is, I believe, on the on the most agreed upon scenario of those who desire one. That is...that it is a sequel that takes place in the same atmosphere as Blade Runner. I've been working on a story, on and off, over the past year or two (I lose track.) I really want to get it finished, for a few reasons. One...to put it to rest! get the story out, and move on to other projects I have. Two...The timing is right (With the Final Cut to be released). Three...it really does have potential to be an interesting story. There are two stories actually. It started as one...but it started to break into different directions. I liked the ideas of two of them. As a result, I am working on one short story /script (Tomorrow Started), and a longer story (Yet to be named.) The combination of the two...with a creative screenwriting team, could produce a Blade Runner 2. The stories are based on a few characters from the book, DADoES. Most of the characters are original. The scenario is based on the books perspectives...but can be easily translated/transferred to the Blade Runner world. As with most things...as will be displayed in the Final Cut, everything can be approved upon. I could sit on this story another year. Would it be better than it is currently? Most likely. I could spend the rest of my life on it. (That thought has crossed my mind.) But...as I mentioned above, I'd like to get it out there, and move on! The story really does have a lot of potential. It is full of interesting ideas...and discussion. I am trying to keep it reality-based as much as possible. Things such as the time span it would take for man to travel through space, to and from Mars, is something I've been debating in my mind, for example. Well...I'm off to do some more writing. My hope is to finish this story before the end of summer. Regards, ~ Kipple
